Malham
Probably best known for its site of rare limestone pavement, visitors come to walk, climb and pothole in Malham. The nearby Malham Cove is a huge natural amphitheatre from where the River Aire reappears having travelled underground for some distance. The top of the cove is a large area of deeply eroded limestone pavement, of a strange pattern rarely seen in England. Gordale Scar is an impressive Limestone Gorge complete with waterfalls that cut right into the limestone hillside.
Malham Tarn, 4 miles from Malham, is the highest lake in England with limestone formations and waterfalls; it is also a wetland nature reserve.

Malham is located at the western foot of the Dales, within 11 miles of Skipton and 7 miles of Settle. Buses run throughout the Dales and the nearest train station is Gargrave, 7 miles away.
