Bridlington

Bridlington offers a wide variety of attractions for tourists. The Harbour Heritage Museum provides an insight into the maritime history of the town. Just outside Bridlington lays Burton Agnes Hall, a magnificent Elizabethan House featuring spectacular gardens and grounds that are open throughout the summer. Sewerby Hall and Gardens is set on the cliff tops over-looking Bridlington and is open to the public (gardens open all year; hall open April to October). Leisure World in Bridlington is an indoor complex close to the beach containing three different pools, a bar and catering facilities. Bird lovers should go to the RSPB Bempton Cliffs reserve, home to almost a quarter of a million seabirds including puffins, gannets, guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes and fulmars. In season there are wonderful views from the cliff tops of the birds feeding their young. There is a small fair by the beach and harbour with rides for small children and amusement arcades for the older ones. Adults will enjoy a visit to The Spa which offers drama, comedy, dancing, sport and exhibitions. Situated just south of the A165 from Filey and north of Beverley, Bridlington has good road links. Although some distance from the North York Moors, it is on the edge of The Wolds which has picturesque walks and stunning scenery.  Accommodation ranges from hotels and bed and breakfasts to self catering holiday cottages, all of which provide good value. Camping and caravan sites are also available in the surrounding countryside. Caravan equipment is readily available in Bridlington at Abyss Caravan Supplies or The Camping Shop.
